Purpose of Practicum

It is to facilitate student-teacher get first-hand experience on sharing their knowledge

It is to learn the system of teaching, students' characteristics, and learning strategy during the teaching practice.

It is to develop the student-teacher teaching skill.

Procedure of Practicum
First of all is classroom observation. It is to know the characteristics of the students and environment around them in order to choose the most suitable learning strategy. After the teacher knows the conditions and the students' characteristic, then teacher arranges the lesson plan before teaching based on the curriculum, the topic, and students' needs.

Outcomes of Practicum
During the teaching practice, I got so many experiences in teaching such as how to make lesson plan based on the curriculum and students' needs. I learn a lot how to manage time and manage the classroom where young learners tend to be so active and noisy. I also learn how to get the students' attention and make them understand the material. The important outcome is I can choose the best strategy based on students' need so the objectives of the lesson can be reached in the end of the class.

Challenges of Practicum
Every students has their own characteristics, there are students who learn fast and there are students who learn a bit slower. There are students who are very active and noisy and there are students who always keep silent. I have to manage all of them to be focus on the lesson and also active during discussion. I have also manage the classroom for not being noisy and pay attention to the lesson. Teacher needs to use interactive method in teaching so students are motivated to learn.

Overall Impression
This practicum is very useful to develop my teaching skill because I have learn many things such as students' characteristics, the environment around the classroom and school, the students' need, the curriculum, and also the classroom management. By experiencing this teaching practice, my knowledge related with teaching and learning is increased.

Suggestion
This program is only one month or four weeks while the first week is the observation. Student-teacher only have 3 weeks for teaching and we teach several times per week. Maybe it will be better if since the first week student-teacher can teach at least one time so they will experience more.
